New Cisco training course offered by Fast Lane: "Unified Computing Systems Architectural Overview (UCSAO)"

Hamburg/Berlin, Germany, 5 November 2010 – The IT training specialist Fast Lane (www.flane.de) has again expanded its range of courses in the field of data centre technology. The one-day "Unified Computing Systems Architectural Overview (UCSAO)" course provides an overview of the possible uses of the Unified Computing System (UCS) platform. Among other things, participants obtain good basic knowledge about server virtualisation and the structure of computer centre architecture in cluster environments.

The UCS platform combines computing, networks, memory access and virtualisation and thereby simplifies the architecture of data centres. The one-day UCS course is primarily intended for customer service staff and business development and channel account managers wishing to consolidate and increase their knowledge and skills relating to UCS solutions.

During the course, Fast Lane experts demonstrate which requirements modern computing centres need to fulfil in terms of efficient management. The course also includes a look at the scalability of data centre architecture as well as an overview of LAN and SAN architecture. A further unit covers developments in the area of server technology and focuses in particular on the subject of server virtualisation. Specific topics here include the benefits and also challenges relating to applications in cluster environments. A mix of theoretical lectures and discussions featuring various case studies gives participants a good introduction to the fundamentals of the Cisco Unified Computing System.
